Principal
Marilyn is a graduate of Aquinas College with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design through Kendall College of Art and Design and a degree in Applied Sciences through Ferris State University.
Marilyn has over 30 years experience in the Kitchen and Bath industry and is a proud member of The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
She obtained her builder’s license and has been a certified kitchen designer since 1990. In 2004, she opened Kitchen West (K West) in Douglas, Michigan and has served as the Lakeshore’s premier kitchen designer for more than 10 years.
Marilyn brings a vast knowledge of cabinetry and design to the Kitchen West team. She has a strong focus on customer service and coordinates the team through the design and construction processes.
Certified Kitchen Designer by the NKBA.
Senior Designer
Laurah is a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. She won first place in the Rehau Leading Edge Design Competition and achieved her AKBD certification through the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Laurah is a project manager and provides organization through her attentional to detail. As well as being able to provide hand-rendered drawings, she is well-versed in multiple design and drawing technologies. She enjoys assisting clients with decisions and facilitating design solutions. Laurah also brings graphic design and visual presentation skills for each project.
Assistant Designer
Emma graduated from the Interior Design program at Kendall College of Art and Design in Spring 2020. She works closely with project managers to support design development and presentation. She brings a new perspective on innovation in design to the K West team.
Office Manager
Carol has overseen daily office operations since
joining Kitchen West in 2011. She coordinates work
activities to meet project goals and expectations.
Carol brings strong customer relation skills through
daily client interaction. She enjoys cooking and
baking for the Kitchen West team and clients.
The K West Design Studio team brings a new level of detail to our kitchen and bathroom design projects. Even beyond these two areas of the home, they are a tremendous asset to any area of the home we are designing that needs cabinetry. They understand the latest finishes and know how to leverage every square inch of functional space for the client. We really enjoy collaborating with them on our renovation and new construction projects!
